Sussex IAS – Harold Frankland 1915-2016, a fascinating neighbour

23 January 2027 @ 14:00 - 15:00

Talk by Adrian Backshall

In the early 1930s the family moved to Broad Road in Lower Willingdon where Harold became a model railway engineer and skilled craftsman, making anything required from his garden workshop using tools he had to fabricate himself. During the war he made parts for Lancaster Bombers.

The house’s interior remained unchanged for 80 years. Adrian rescued and photographed many of his tools and household objects.

All welcome
