The Association for Industrial Archaeology is a registered charity (No 277511) which promotes the study and appreciation of industrial archaeology. This policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you join the Association. We treat the privacy of our members seriously and through our membership manager – Taylor & Francis – take appropriate security measures to safeguard that privacy.

What information do we collect

When you join the AIA Taylor & Francis, on our behalf, collects only the information required from you to manage and administer your membership, which includes renewals, the processing of bank details when collecting payment, the posting of Industrial Archaeology Review and Industrial Archaeology News and Annual General Meeting notices. The AIA’s Honorary Treasurer also uses the information for the collection of Gift Aid.

How do we use information about you?

We collect the information about you to allow us to manage and administer your membership of the AIA and to send a Welcome Pack to new members. The membership data is kept confidential. In order to fulfil our obligations to you as a member, we share your information with Taylor & Francis, whose Privacy Policy can be seen at https://taylorandfrancis.com/customer-privacy/  We will not share your information with organisations outside the AIA or Taylor & Francis. We do not share your data with external marketing companies.

Access to your information and correction

You have the right to request a copy of the information that is held about you.
