East of England Region Industrial Archaeology Conference

EERIAC is held once a year and rotates round the region.

In 2023 it is the turn of the Essex Industrial Archaeology Group

The Conference focusses on the Industrial Heritage of Chelmsford.

09:30 – Set up by EIAG and others’ displays
10.00 – Registration, tea, coffee, biscuits and view displays
10:20 – Welcome by EIAG, Notices & Programme for the day
10:30 – Talk 1 – Chelmsford Industries in the past, by Alan Pamphilon
11.15 – Break, view displays, trail books for sale.
11.45 – Talk 2 – Detail on Marconi or another industry in Chelmsford
12:30 – EERIAC AGM
12:45 – Clear away displays
13.00 – Vacate room
Lunch (Own sandwiches, Hive Café, Tesco, Rising Sun pub)
14:00 – Re-assemble for visits (elsewhere on site)
• Chelmsford Museum Industrial Exhibits
• Walk around former industrial sites in Moulsham area (part of Chelmsford Industrial Trail)

Parking: There is parking on site but can fill up at weekend, hence car sharing would be appreciated.
Transport: The railway station is 1.5 miles away, there are buses between the station and near to the museum.
Lunch: Lunch is not provided but there are local facilities. If you want to use Hive Café at the museum let us know so we can give seating required.
Cost: Between £10 and £15, to be verified on the booking form.
